ROI MACïAZ (músico, artista plástico)
Piano, saxos, bajo.
Nacido el 17-12-1970. San Luis, Argentina.
A los 11 años comenzó sus estudios de piano y a los 14 formó su primera banda de rock. A partir de los 15 años sintió la necesidad de manifestarse a través de la composición, necesidad que nunca ha dejado de exteriorizar.
Comenzó a escuchar otras músicas como el jazz, serialismo, música clásica contemporánea.
Todo esto comenzó a plantearle nuevos rumbos y durante diez años decidió solo escribir o involucrarse con la composición instrumental y experimental.
Después de participar en varias agrupaciones de diferentes estilos, logra acercarse a su objetivo en bandas como SAN BER’DINO en donde fusiona rock sinfónico con jazz rock y en MACIAZ freeOid con la que se ha centrado en la libre improvisación y en ciertas composiciones cercanas al serialismo, pero también ha estado incursionando en el noise y la música drone.
Hoy se encuentra en varios proyectos: MACIAZ-GONZALEZ Duet en donde pulula la free improvisation+free jazz, BARANDAACAN SPLENDID en donde hay free jazz punk y DESCONSIDERACIÒN TEMPESTIVA agrupación en donde se percata el noise, lo experimental y free jazz.
Ha participado en los dos festivales internacionales de free jazz 2008 y 2009 realizados en el SADEM Buenos Aires y ha compartido escenario y proyectos con gente como Rubén Ferrero, Omar Grandoso, Zelmar Garin, Alcides Larrosa, Pocho Lapouble, Hilliard Greene (USA), Armando de La Vega, George Haslam (UK), Enzo Rocco (Italia), entre otros.
Ha editado más de 10 discos independientes a traves de ULIBLA rekkors (sello propio), SLAM records (sello UK) y NOSESO records (sello Bs. As.)
